20 Questions: Form 706 U.S. Estate Tax Return
Presented by:
Currently the amount exempt from estate taxes is $13.61 million per person and $27.22 million per married couple, so very few Americans are currently affected by the tax. But this historically high exemption is set to expire at the end of 2025. Without a legislative fix the exemption will be reduced dramatically, and some speculate that could mean a drop back to about half of an inflation-adjusted $7 million for any individual passing away in 2026 or later. This session will help your clients not miss out on this valuable safety net to avoid or reduce estate taxes.
- Most of the time the basic filing requirement isn’t met. Should you file anyway?
- A QTIP isn’t just for your ears. What is the election, and how does it work?
- How is Form 706 for portability different than regular Form 706 filings?
- And many more questions will be asked and answered
